As we’ve established, there are no set rates for streaming appearances. According to Cesar Budco, head of social at streaming agency HYPE, the going rate for an esports event appearance is $20-100k, for mainstream entertainment $5-20k, and for gaming $2-5k.

These numbers are not set in stone, but they give us a rough idea of where the money is. The best way to make money from followers on Twitch is to become an esports-streamer. Budco confirms that “streamers who excel in esports events are getting paid a lot of money”.

If you’re not an esports player, no sweat. You can still make some pretty cool cash as a Twitch streamer. The second-best way to earn money from followers on Twitch is as a content creator. According to Twitch’s creative director Michael “Sourpatch” Rose, “anyone who wants to make a full-time living from streaming” is better off as a content creator, rather than an esports streamer.

That’s because the esports scene is very crowded, with a lot of competition for a few top spots. That’s not to say esports streamers don’t make good money. They definitely do. But the money from followers on Twitch, for esports streamers, is more limited.

Twitch streamers might make good money from appearances, but they can also make money from viewers by selling advertisements on their channel. Twitch streamers get 70% of the revenue from ad sales on their channel.

You can expect to earn between $2,000 and $50,000 for a single social media endorsement. The amount of money you get will depend on how many followers you have, how engaged they are, and how much they trust you.

How Much Money do Musician-Streamers Make from Followers?

Musician-streamers like Alan Walker and Poppy make good money from followers. They make even more money from concerts, but that’s only possible once they’ve reached a certain level of success.

But not just any influencer will do. For example, if you’re a YouTuber with 5 million followers, most brands won’t take your calls. A big YouTuber has low engagement. A million followers might engage with a video, but 5 million followers don’t care. They’re a number on a screen, not real people.

As a social media influencer, you have to have high engagement. You need followers to comment, like, and share your posts. You need them to engage with your content, and you need them to trust you. Once you have that level of engagement and trust, brands will be happy to take your calls, and pay you good money for your influence.
